Course of the intervention

The preoperative consultation

It takes place at the medical office. You will discuss with Dr. Alexandre G. LELLOUCH in order to specify your expectations and he will determine with you the best possible option.

From additional examinations will be prescribed (adapted according to each patient) as well as preoperative photos will be taken.

At the end of the consultation, the plastic surgeon will give you an estimate and an operating consent.

The upper blepharoplasty :

  • Evaluation of the amount of excess skin by a simple gesture of pinching the skin of the eyelid (skin pinch).
  • Evaluation of the presence of a medial fat hernia (which will be removed if necessary)

Evaluation of the level of the external canthus in order to perform an external cantopexy (horizontalization of the eye).

The lower blepharoplasty :

  • Evaluation of fat pockets by a pressure on the eyeball which allows to accentuate the fat pocket.
  • Evaluation of the amount of excess skin by a simple gesture of pinching the skin of the eyelid (skin pinch).
  • Evaluation of volumes of the face (malar fat) to give a more youthful appearance by restoring volumes (lipofilling).

The technique will depend on the collection of all these elements and will be discussed with the patient.

Type of anesthesia

General anesthesia performed by an anesthesiologist or local anesthesia for upper eyelids only

Duration of the intervention

Between 1 hour 30 minutes and 2 hours. Performed only by Dr. Alexandre G. LELLOUCH

Practical Information

  • Do a blood test prescribed by the surgeon
  • Make a visual field (not systematic) prescribed by the surgeon
  • Well Fill out your clinic file before your consultation with the anesthesiologist
  • Take appointment with an anesthesiologist at the clinic and schedule a consultation between 1 month and 1 week before your surgery date
  • Smoking cessation 3 weeks before and 3 weeks after for optimal results
  • No exposure to the sun on scars for 1 year
  • Buy postoperative medication/medical equipment before the procedure so that you have as little stress as possible after the procedure
